Fashion February and a Good Cause
Last year, my friend, Joyia and I started something a conversation in a yoga class about wanting to do something new on St. Croix. With her jewelry and my clothing designs; we invited clients, volunteers and staff of the Women’s Coalition to participate in our first ever fashion show. It was the start of something big. This year we expanded our efforts to start the first ever FASHION FEBRUARY and invited more businesses to participate. We grew by NINE! So in additional to Joyia’s Inspirational Jewelry and Island Contessa, we have Adorn, Cueros leather goods, Crucian Gold, Envii Boutique, Hotheads, IB Designs, Molly’s Boutique, Susan Mango and The Boardwalk Parlour. We’ve been celebrating each of these throughout the month and drawing attention to the amazing businesses that contribute to the fashion industry on St. Croix. Our hope is to someday have the fashion business here as recognized as the artist and culinary communities have become around the globe. The month will culminate, this Sunday, February 26th, at the Hotel Caravelle at 1:00 on the boardwalk in downtown Christiansted. This year, as last, the fashion show will contribute to the Women’s Coalition. An organization on St. Croix that has made remarkable strives in saving lives. I’m excited to say that ALL of the VIP tickets have been sold but there are still general admission ones that will be available until the day of the show! Being a member of the robust fashion family here on my little rock is inspiring and a blessing, all in one.
