One of the things I promised my friends and customers when we started the online version of Island Contessa was that, it wouldn’t just be a selling website, but it would be like shopping in your girlfriend’s closet. You know, pulling out tops and skirts and jewelry and shoes; matching this with that; having a glass of wine and swapping shopping horror stories! Well, we’re slowly getting around to that and making the site more comfortable. The Saturday Brunch skirt has SO MANY possibilities and frankly more than I’ll ever have to sell (me selling shoes? not likely). So what we’re going to start doing is finding pieces for you–some online in public domains but also, we’re going to start including some local designers here on St. Croix–its amazing how many great ones are here! The idea is that when I have a new item or find a particularly cool piece that will compliment one of mine; I’m going to share it with YOU whether I sell it or not. I have always maintained that I want you to look and feel good and I’m committed to that. I hope you’ll like the suggestions and that you’ll comment OR send us some of your ideas!
Also, I want you to share one other change to the site. When you log in now, you’ll see a pop-up that asks for your email. We want to continue to better serve you and so, we’re going to start telling you about special sales; trunk shows we’ll be doing and new product launches. You’ll only hear about it first, this way! We promise we’ll never sell your email and we’ll get the communications to a minimum so it doesn’t feel spammy. It may just be February but we’re launching ourselves into this New Year!
