You can come home with The Shayna and The Rosaleen!

I’m not going to lie.  This isn’t a great picture.  It’s fuzzy. I’m too far away and its hard to really see too many details but the large electrical outlet in the floor.  That said, this is an important picture.  Why, you ask?  Well this is me coming back to Kansas City to introduce Island Contessa. It had been several years since I’d been to KC, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.  We were lucky to get into this show at the last minute and I LOVED having the opportunity to introduce my hometown to this lovely line.  I saw many old friends and I made some new ones along the way.

It’s difficult to sometimes figure out what to wear when we come back to the mainland because as pitiful as it sounds; my blood really has gotten thinner and I freeze in places that have lots of air conditioning (our family calls us beach bums for a reason).  Not to worry!  I paired my lovely Rosaleen with the ever popular Shayna and voila!  I have a perfect match and I wasn’t that cold!  But I digress.

While we came back home for a wedding, I am always up to spreading the joy of Island Contessa and with the new home goods line we were excited to show it all off!  The show was the perfect avenue.  We’re always excited about some press were getting and we’re hoping to name a store that will be carrying the line before we leave!

Going home sometimes isn’t easy.  You can get caught up in family drama or forget the nuances of some relationships from before or you can just forget to have packed a sweater.  Here’s what I know.  You love your family.  You can walk away from difficult relationships.  You can buy a sweater.  My words of wisdom for a Wednesday.
