Coming Home

One of the best things I have found about starting Island Contessa, besides sharing some fabulous clothes, is making new friends and celebrating everything that is good about women.  Last weekend we launched at Shay’s (www.shays.com) on my home island of St. Croix.  Below is a picture of me with some of the fabulous models wearing my designs.  It was a great gathering celebrating Shay’s 11th year in business.  We also had a silent auction with some Island Contessa items as well as pieces donated by Shay’s that benefitted the Women’s Coalition of St. Croix and their mission to end domestic violence.  The intimacy of Shay’s, the wonderful models and the festivity of the evening made it feel like one great party with some amazing women that you might have had in your home.  And that’s what made it all feel so special.  It felt just like coming home.  During this month when we celebrate home and family and reflect on the year that has been; I want to thank everyone that has been on this journey with me of Island Contessa.  I couldn’t think of a better way to ring in December and I couldn’t think of a better place to do it!  Happy holidays everyone!
